INTRODUCTION
The engine fuel system inhibiting rig is used to inhibit the fuel system of the Adour engine. It consists of an inhibiting fluid tank with a capacity of 35 litres (7 gallon) and a nitrogen cylinder.
The inhibiting fluid tank is equipped with a filler cap, gauze strainer, safety valve, nitrogen inlet and fluid outlet. It is also fitted with a drain plug.
GENERAL
The rig comprises a welded, tubular steel frame which forms a transportation trolley for the single inhibiting fluid tank and a nitrogen cylinder. An inhibiting fluid delivery hose, complete with Mk.II delivery gun, is stowed on the side of the rig. The rig runs on two 9'' diameter wheels.
The fluid in the pressure vessel is pressurised by nitrogen which is contained in a cylinder mounted in the upright position at the rear of the rig. A main pressure regulator is used to reduce nitrogen pressure from the nitrogen cylinder from its maximum charging pressure of 172.5 bar (2500 psi) to the operating pressure of the rig of 2.4 bar (35 psi).
The reduced nitrogen pressure from the main pressure regulator, is delivered to the tank when the pressure regulator at the rear of the rig is opened. When the inhibiting fluid tank is pressurised, inhibiting oil is forced out of the vessel, through a nominal 5 micron filter and a 20 ft long, 1/2" nominal bore delivery hose which terminates in a Mk. II delivery gun. The Mk.II delivery gun comes complete with a 12" nozzle extension hose and female adaptor. The hose is stowed on brackets on the side of the rig.The Mk.II delivery gun is stowed in holsters on the side of the rig.
