Environmentally, attention is increasingly being focused on the unregulated and untreated dispersal of waste water from aircraft engine washes on the aprons of airports worldwide. The collection and safe disposal of this waste is now an issue for many airlines, so it’s not surprising that there has been a lot of interest in Juniper’s response to the problem; our new self contained trailer mounted containment mat (JMP/KYOTO/D/6777/C200). As with all Juniper equipment, it’s beautifully made and features a high-powered vacuum unit discharging into a cavernous 85 gallon onboard storage tank mounted on a highly manoeuvrable chassis. The mat itself measures 12′ x 35′ and is manufactured from a tough, durable polyurethane which is resistant to to a wide range of chemicals including Skydrol.
TAM Linhas Aereas in Brazil, a long standing customer of Juniper who have been using our 2×50 gallon wash rigs for years, were looking for a cost effective waste water collection method and were keen to try out the new containment mat. They have since bought four of them. Responding to pressure from local environmental authorities and impressed with the containment mat, Aegean Airlines have just bought one together with a 2×25 gallon wash rig and tooling for the V2500 engine.
Most recently, Steve Marshall travelled to British Airways engineering base at Gatwick Airport in May to demonstrate the mat using their own 2×25 gallon Juniper wash rig on the base’s GE90 engine.
Embodying all the traditional Juniper virtues of rugged build quality, ease of use, seamless integration with Juniper’s wash rigs together with unrivalled back-up and expertise, why not discover for yourself why major airlines are keen to try our new waste water collection system.
