We feel our lightweight wash rigs with added heaters are the ideal size for washing the smaller engines on todays short-haul aircraft. So, when we had the opportunity recently to wash a pair of CF34-8E engines on an Embraer 170, we were keen to see how it would perform.
The wash took place on Saturday 27th July at Edinburgh Airport using our heated lightweight wash rig (JMP/SHWR/D/0376/C1000) through a set of CF34-8E engine wash probes (JMP/CF34/D/6553), with the Juniper trailer mounted containment mat (JMP/KYOTO/D/6777/C200) deployed to collect the waste water from the wash. The wash proceeded without a hitch and the engineers present were delighted with the excellent results – kindly sending us a copy of their engine performance graph taken immediately after the wash, clearly showing the dramatic EGT margin recovery achieved.
